The residents and authorities in Japan were appalled by a mysterious sphere on iron washed up on a local beach. The officials sealed off a beach to investigate the sphere of the unknown origin.
As per the Asahi News report, the mysterious ball was reported by a local resident in Hamamatsu, a southern coastal city about 155 miles from Tokyo, who called the police just before 9 am and informed that "a large round object was washed up on the beach".
The sphere is reportedly measured around 1.5 meters in diameter and authorities feat that it could be a stray mine. However, the concerns were dismissed after the experts used X-ray technology to examine the object’s interior and found that it was hollow.
Several videos and pictures of the experts dressed in protective gear have taken the internet by storm.
The restrictions were lifted at around 4 pm. Another Vice News report suggests that the object which has a protrusion that would allow it to be hooked onto something closely resembles a mooring buoy.
The spotting of the iron ball sparked a flurry of attention on TV in the wake of the US shooting down a Chinese spy balloon.
